Sayonarah 2012

**Warning Picture Overload**

I can not believe that 2012 has come to a close already.  This year has not been particularly good or bad just another run of the mill year really.

We started the year with L turning 8 months old, he started to say mama and already had 7 or 8 teeth, he also got his first hair cut!

Hi first haircut! I think in 2012 he had about 6 or 7!! The boy has some hair and it grows crazy fast!!!
Love this picture of my sweet boy in his jammies

L started crawling in March at about 10 months old and has never stopped moving since!!

We celebrated L's first easter which was so fun, Easter is one of my favorite holidays and I love that I can now share it with my lil guy

I went to Myrtle Beach for our annual girls trip/race with my mom and gram to do the Diva Half Marathon
In May, our lil man turned 1 we had a baseball party and he had so much fun!! Our family and close friends in town were able to come help us celebrate!

L had his first visit to the beach, even if it was Galveston, we had fun playing in the sand and water nonetheless!!
L got so many teeth so early we started brushing at an early age!!

L and his twin cousin, they look so much alike its crazy, L's cousin L turned 2 this year and we went to San Antonio to celebrate at his Dr. Seuss Birthday party

I was able to attend a shower for one of my college friends and sorority sisters
L decided he can eat at the table like a big boy

We took L to his and my first college football game and had so much fun!!

L got to celebrate Fall with playgroups, pumpkin patches and horse rides!

Hubby's family came in town for Thanksgiving and L had so so so much fun playing with his cousins!!!

Like I said, this year was not super eventful but I count my blessings daily.  I like the saying no news is good news! I am so blessed to have a family in good health a home and a job that I love, a husband who spends time with our son and helps out around the house.  I am so blessed that L can have a relationship with his grandparents and his great grandparents, and that they are willing and able to be involved in his life too!

I hope and pray 2013 is as good to us as 2012 if not better!! I fear what bad things may happen but have faith that whatever those trials are God will get us through and will not put us through anything we can not handle!

I have great anticipation for the fun, exciting and good things that are hopefully to come, the people I will get to meet and the time that I will be able to spend with family! Each day is not a promise and time is so fleeting, this has not been more true than in recent times and it has made me even more aware and willing to be present in every moment as if it were my last!!

Non-christmas 2012

I know christmas is long and over, but due to my work schedule and being sick two different times in the weeks leading up to christmas, the usual christmas traditions and happenings fell to the wayside.  Therefor I don't have the usual christmas catch up post like most of you, I came home from work, we ate breakfast and opened presents then me and L took a nap...thats it.  L wasn't into christmas didn't care about his presents and I think he wasn't feeling good because the next day I came home to him with a 103 fever.  I didn't get cute family pictures shoot I don't even have a single picture of L in front of our tree or anything.

This made me sad, no christmas church, no christmas outfit, no christmas cookies.  I guess thats not what makes up christmas but the fact I had to work on christmas eve and christmas night really kind of ruined it for me.  I have already decided next year Im doing it big! I LOVE christmas and next year nothing will be spared, watch out family and get ready!!

I am so blessed though to actually have a job even if I did have to go into work and ruin my holiday.  I am blessed to have all that we have and to have my husband and son healthy and happy.

One thing though that I did not let fall to the way side is christmas jambes! I have a slight addiction to babies in jammies and christmas ones are even cuter

I took these throughout the month before christmas and I love them so much that even though christmas is over you better believe he is still wearing them :)

Lousy Christmas aside I get to wake up to this ginormous smile EVERY day thats way better than any christmas in my book!!!

Christmas Cards 2012

I was so thrilled with how our cards turned out this year!! Granted our family photo session went slightly awry as this little toddler had no interest in taking pictures.  Thankfully we have an amazing photographer Kellianne who was able to capture several good photos for us!!

I hope you enjoy!

Merry Christmas from the Lopez Family!

Out of Respect

I've tried to think of what to say, sure there are lots of opinions I have related to gun control, mental health and the like but for now that needs not be mentioned.

These families are experiencing unthinkable tragedy and really need our prayers.

So today I will and I urge you as well to take a moment in silence to pray for the families, first responders, and friends and also the community itself.

Busy Bees

Geez, Can't believe I have gone this long without blogging.  Between work, holidays, and simply enjoying life I just have not had an opportunity to update this little blog.

We have been oh so busy and L has been growing like a little weed!! He has really flourished in the past few weeks as far speech and personality goes.  I have always loved the 18 months to 3 yr old age and now that I have my own 18 mont old it is confirmed, 18 months IS so much fun!!!  I plan to do an 18 month post dedicated little man because there is just so much to write about him!

We have traveled to New Orleans to visit my Gram and Gpa and do The Color Run in New Orleans

Explore the French Quarter and eat some delicious food!
Hang out with GG and Gpop exploring downtown New Orleans
Had a few mommy-son dates...L is so fun and he is so well behaved, I love our little dinner dates

We have FINALLY started to decorate for Christmas!! Its about time...I have a seriously hard time getting into the whole christmas season when its 80+ degrees outside!!! I love me some christmas but GEEZ the heat really puts a damper on the season!!
We went to the Houston Zoo to see their new Christmas Tradition the Zoo Lights which was really fun and L had a blast!!
Since the weather has been beautiful we have been soaking in the sun and have had many a park day!!

Oh ya know...gotta get squeaky and clean after all the fun!!  Nothing like a clean baby after a bath!!

Zoo Lights

The Houston Zoo started doing Zoo Lights this year, we decided to start a new family tradition and go check it out.
They have a lot of the zoo closed off but have lots of lights, and some of the bigger animals that you can see
The Jelly fish, looked so cool!!

L loved to watch the elephants!!

The albino alligator was so cool, just hangin out by the window

The lights were really pretty, they were done very tastefully and not cheesy at all, they also had christmas music playing over the park speakers.  L loved watching the lights!!

Me an the boss, he's snackin on goldfish per the usual

They had one section that was a bunch of white animals with uplighting, it looked really pretty!

 Tons of sleeping giraffes

I couldn't get a good picture, but L took his first carousel ride. He was a little scared but I think he really enjoyed it!!  We had a lot of fun and I look forward to making this a yearly tradition

I'm Katie a 27 year old mommy and wife. Welcome to my blog where I will chronicle the happenings of my life as I find the balance between being both SAHM by day and CVICU nurse by night.

I love Jesus and strive to be more like Christ every day. Running, reading, and cooking are some of my favorite past-times. I love photography but I am no pro, but it helps I have such a cute subject to practice on!!
